Sand lifts Royals past Redmen

BUCYRUS — Logen Sand shot a 42 to lead Wynford to a 179-201 victory against rival Bucyrus to open Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf play Tuesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Kyle Koons and Kayleb Keaton both had 46s, and Aden Caldwell finished with a 51 for the Royals (1-0, 1-0 N10).

Tanner medals in Carey victory

GALION — Ethan Tanner medaled with a 46 to lead Carey to a 194-225 victory against Colonel Crawford to open the Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf season. Dylan Grothaus shot a 48, and McKain Miller and Carter Frederick both had 50s for the Blue Devils (2-0, 1-0 N10).

Upper tops CC for 1st program win

GALION — The Upper Sandusky girls golf program picked up its first-ever victory and avenged a loss last week against Colonel Crawford with a 245-266 victory Monday at Valley View Golf Course. Katie Clark earned medalist honors with a 59 for the Rams (1-2, 1-2 Northern 10 Athletic Conference).

Schiefer medals for Wynford girls

BUCYRUS — The Wynford girls golf team improved to 5-0 with a 207-232 victory against Elgin on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Caity Schiefer medaled with a 49, with Emily Rudd (51) and Abby Underwood (52) right behind. Gabby Johnson rounded out scoring with a 55.

Wynford 4th, Mohawk 8th at Elks Invitational

BUCYRUS — Wynford finished fourth and Mohawk eighth Monday in the Bucyrus Elks Invitational golf tournament at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Galion blew away the field with a 310. Seneca East (341) and Ashland (367) both came in ahead of the Royals (374). The Warriors finished with a 410.

Underwood leads to N10 tri-match victories

TIFFIN — Thanks to Abby Underwood’s 48 and Caity Scheifer’s 52, the Wynford girls golf team won a tri-match with Seneca East and Mohawk on Monday at Clinton Heights Golf Course in Tiffin. The Royals finished with an overall score of 222, Seneca East finished with an overall score of 240, and Mohawk finished with an overall score of 243.

Bluffton edges Riverdale

BLUFFTON — Andrew Kuenzli earned medalist honors with a 44 but Bluffton squeezed past Riverdale, 198-200, in a non-conference boys golf match Monday at Bluffton Golf Club. Curtis Tracy and Rease Haley both shot 51s for the Falcons (2-4). Tyler Clark added a 54.
