National letter of intent Mohawk senior Madi Chester signed her national letter of intent on Friday to play volleyball at Ohio Northern University. “One of the volleyball coaches contacted me and they had come and watched one of our games and they said they were interested in me. Warriors hold off Blue Devils CAREY — Needing a bounce-back performance to remain atop the Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball standings, Mohawk got it with a big first half before holding off Carey late in a 53-47 victory Saturday night. The Warriors had their N10 lead cut to one when they suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday night against Colonel Crawford, and another loss to the Blue Devils on Saturday night would have created a three-way tie for first with the Eagles only a game back. Gillig scores 17 for Mohawk in loss to BC SYCAMORE — Claudia Pifher knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead Buckeye Central to a 64-39 victory against Mohawk in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game Saturday.
