Changes made to schedules due to weather

Wet field conditions caused cancellations Tuesday. Upper Sandusky’s varsity baseball game against New Riegel will be played at 5 p.m. today. The softball game will be rescheduled later. Carey’s softball’s home softball game against Bluffton will be played at 5 p.m. Thursday, while the baseball game is rescheduled for April 15. Wynford’s home baseball game against Plymouth also was cancelled. …

Blue Devils rally past Falcons, 5-4

CAREY — The Carey baseball team is tired of waiting for next year. The future is now. Brayden Wentling doubled home Reece Mullholand with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Blue Devils a season-opening 5-4 victory against Riverdale on Monday.

Berardinelli-Clark sets Carey HR record

MOUNT BLANCHARD — With Hannah Lonsway in the circle, Dani Berardinelli-Clark could focus on taking care of business at the plate. Lonsway pitched a five-inning shutout, and Berardinelli-Clark smacked a double, a triple and a home run to lead Carey to a season-opening 10-0 victory over Riverdale.

Rams top Wildcats, 4-1, in tennis opener

KENTON — The Upper Sandusky boys tennis team opened its season with a 4-1 victory against Kenton on Monday. “It was a really good opening win for us with three new singles players from last year and the doubles teams all being new combinations,” Upper Sandusky coach Aaron Frazee said.

Warriors rout Hornets, 12-2, in opener

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s softball team scored six times in the first inning and cruised to a season-opening 12-2 victory in six innings against Cory-Rawson on Monday. The Warriors (1-0) added a single run each in the second and third innings before the Hornets scored their two runs in the top of the fourth.
