Mohawk routs BC to move to 3-0

SYCAMORE — Mohawk scored in all four innings it batted and rolled to a 16-2 victory against Mohawk to open Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Wednesday. The Warriors (3-0, 1-0 N10) scored twice in the first and five times in the second inning to lead 7-0 before the Bucks (0-2, 0-1 N10) scored their runs in the top of the third.

Dentinger leads Buckeye to 6-4 win over Mohawk

SYCAMORE — Josh Dentinger shut down Mohawk through five innings on the mound and delivered two hits to lead Buckeye Central to a 6-4 victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball opener Wednesday. Dentinger doubled and scored the go-ahead run on Trent Craft’s double in the top of the fourth inning.

Dible 1-hits New Riegel

NEW RIEGEL — Jevon Dible threw a one-hitter on the mound and drove in two runs at the plate to lead Upper Sandusky to its first baseball victory of the season, 5-1 against New Riegel on Wednesday. Dible gave up a leadoff single to Cole Noftz, and Noftz eventually scored in the first inning, but the Blue Jackets did not get another hit the rest of the game.

Crawford powers past Carey

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford scored seven runs in the second inning to take the lead for good in a 12-7 victory over Carey to open Northern 10 Athletic Conference play Wednesday. Ethan Studer was the winning pitcher with seven earned runs and six strikeouts in 3 1-3 innings.

Mohawk scores 8 in 5th in 12-2 win

SYCAMORE — Mohawk errors helped Riverdale stay in the game, but the Warriors recovered and used an eight-run fifth inning to take a 12-2 run-rule victory against the Falcons in a non-league softball game Tuesday. Riverdale tied the game at 2 in the top of the second inning with the help of Mohawk mistakes.

Falcons rally for 9-7 win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale took advantage of eight Delphos Jefferson errors in a 9-7 comeback win in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday. The Wildcats led 7-2 after a four-run fifth inning, but the Falcons got back three of the runs in the bottom of the fifth to make it 7-5.

Columbian edges Upper

TIFFIN — Tiffin Columbian swept singles competition to defeat Upper Sandusky, 3-2, in boys tennis action Tuesday. The Rams (1-1) won both doubles matches, but it was not enough. Turner Dilley and Noah Frey rallied past Eli Theis and Daniel Bupp, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, and Alex Brodman and Chad Mostoller took down Travin Durham and Anthony Petrosino, 6-3, 6-1.

Wynford boys finish 2nd

CARDINGTON — Wynford’s boys were second and the girls were third in a season-opening tri-meet Tuesday at Cardington-Lincoln. River Valley’s boys topped the Royals, 92-53, for first, with the Pirates taking third with 11 points. The Vikings girls also won with a 95-41 advantage over Cardington-Lincoln. Wynford scored 23 points.
