North Union gets 2 walk-off wins

RICHWOOD — North Union walked off in both games of a non-league doubleheader sweep of Wynford on Saturday, winning 10-9 and 5-4. Caleb Stone was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and Blake Williamson was 2 for 3 with three RBIs in the first loss.

Games canceled, rescheduled

All area baseball and softball games scheduled for Friday were canceled or postponed. ——— The Upper Sandusky varsity baseball and softball doubleheaders set for 11 a.m. today at Riverdale have been rescheduled to single games beginning at 1 p.m.                

Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame to induct next class April 15

The Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame will host its annual banquet at 6 p.m. April 15 in the Masters’ Building on the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. Carey’s Cloyce D. Wentling, Sycamore’s Dan Bogard, Riverdale’s Steve Trout, Harpster’s James Dillion, Upper Sandusky’s Roxie Karg, Wynford’s Tom Schreck and the 1965-66 and 1966-67 Carey boys basketball teams will be inducted into the hall of fame.

River Valey edges Upper, 6-5

River Valley pushed a run across in the top of the seventh inning and then held on for a 6-5 victory against Upper Sandusky in a non-conference baseball game Thursday. Both teams scored four times in the first inning and once in the third inning.

Vikings hand Rams 3rd straight loss

CALEDONIA — Upper Sandusky struck first with a four-run first inning, but it was shut out after that in a 7-4 loss to River Valley in a non-conference softball game Thursday. The Vikings scored two runs apiece in the second, third and fourth innings and one run in the seventh inning.

Upper Sandusky JV baseball earns win

CALEDONIA — Upper Sandusky’s junior varsity baseball team scored seven runs in the final two innings to take a 10-5 victory at River Valley on Thursday. Conner Byrne had two hits and three RBIs, and Diego Cazares had a pair of hits and scored three runs to lead the Rams at the plate.

Bucyrus holds off Wynford, 6-5

BUCYRUS — Wynford rallied in the seventh inning but came up short in a 6-5 loss at Bucyrus to open the softball season Wednesday. Freshman Hannah Messmer (0-1) had six strikeouts and two walks in a loss in her varsity pitching debut.
