Falcons’ Collier finishes 4th at Bearcat Invite

SPENCERVILLE — Juleigha Collier finished fourth to lead Riverdale’s girls to fifth place Saturday in the Black Division of the Bearcat Invitational at Spencerville. Collier finished in 20:58.7, and the Falcons scored 122 points. Bellefontaine won, 53-60, over St. Marys Memorial.

Archbold has 6 different players score in shutout win

ARCHBOLD — Six different players scored as Archbold defeated Riverdale, 6-0, in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday. Andrew Hogrefe scored the first goal with 23:18 remaining in the first half and then assisted on two in the second half after a Clay Gerig goal made it 2-0 in favor of the Blue Streaks (5-1-1) with 9:25 to go before the break.

Warriors improve to 3-0 on the season

NORTH ROBINSON — Never before since joining the Northern 10 Athletic Conference had Mohawk defeated Colonel Crawford, nor had it been 3-0 to start the season. Behind a balanced offense that included three touchdown passes from Keith Jenkins to Zach Hayman, Mohawk won convincingly, 34-20, against Colonel Crawford for the 300th victory in program history.

Carey wins game with 3 safeties

CAREY — Spectators knew Friday night’s Upper Sandusky vs. Carey game was going to be strange just one play into the contest. Starting on his own 10 yard line, Upper Sandusky quarterback Mason Vent received a high snap and was chased out of the back of the end zone for a safety only 14 seconds into the rivalry match-up.

Buckeye Central holds off Carey in 4

CAREY — With the exception of one set, the top two teams in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference played exactly the kind of match one would expect with the margins in each set decided by the minimum two points. In the end, it was Buckeye Central winning two of those three close sets and adding a decisive victory in the second set to hand Carey its first loss of the season, 25-23, 25-10, 29-31, 25-23, on Thursday night.

Rams win 2nd straight match

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky won its second straight match with a 25-18, 25-18, 23-25, 25-23 victory at Bucyrus on Thursday night. Lillie Orians had 13 kills on 18-of-22 hitting, and Anna Johnson finished with 12 kills on 32-of-35 hitting and had nine blocks for the Rams (3-5, 3-2 Northern 10 Athletic Conference).
