ADA — Holding a 40-28 lead over Ada after three quarters, Riverdale looked to put things away in the fourth for an easy win in Tuesday night’s girls basketball contest. But the Lady Bulldogs put up a fight, going on a 7-2 run to close the gap to seven points before the Falcons regained control for a 60-43 win.

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky’s boys and girls defeated Tiffin Columbian and Tiffin Calvert in a swim meet Tuesday at the Tiffin YMCA. The Rams girls won 92-60 over the Tornadoes and 90-46 over the Senecas, while the Rams boys were 97-49 winners against the Tornadoes and 96-44 winners against the Senecas.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk will host the Mohawk Wrestling Duals and Junior High tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday. Admission is good for both tournaments and is $8 for adults and $6 for students.

SYCAMORE — Kaidance Iles scored 13 points to lead Upper Sandusky’s seventh grade girls basketball team to a 33-16 victory at Mohawk on Monday. Veloria Stowers added 10 points, while Alyse Swartz scored 4 points for the Rams. Kamree Frey and Lauren Schoenberger had 2 points each.

BUCYRUS — Upper Sandusky took first place in eight of 13 weight class to dominate the Bucyrus Invitational wrestling tournament Saturday. The Rams scored 251.5 points, with second-place Lakota scoring 169.5.

SHELBY — Not every boys basketball team will win every game during the regular season. Even fewer will win every regular season game in back-to-back seasons as well as the first few contests the following season.

NORTH ROBINSON — By his standards, the 3-point shot was not falling for Cameron McCreary on Saturday night. So in the second half, he decided to try something different. McCreary was nearly unstoppable going to the basket in the second half, scoring 20 of his 30 points in the second half in Colonel Crawford’s 71-56 victory against Carey to open Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball play.

BUCYRUS — Josh Crall scored 30 points to lead Wynford to a 61-45 victory against Bucyrus on Saturday night in a rivalry Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball game. After an even first quarter, Wynford (2-0, 1-0 N10) led 29-22 at halftime and 43-32 after three quarters, but Bucyrus (0-3, 0-1 N10) cut its deficit to 49-45 and missed two free throws that could have made it a two-point game with just over 3 minutes left.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk was hot behind the arc in a 61-43 victory against Buckeye Central to begin Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball play Saturday. The Warriors (1-1, 1-0 N10) knocked down 11 of 20 3-pointers and controlled the lead throughout the game.

SANDUSKY – Upper Sandusky’s boys took second place and the girls tied for third Saturday in the A-BEHR Invitational swim meet Saturday at “The Tank” at Sandusky. Sandusky’s boys scored 205 points to take the championship, with Upper Sandusky (168 points) edging Huron (164) and Sandusky St. Mary (161) for second.
