Upper man picked for Ohio House

Ohio Republicans selected an Upper Sandusky native to replace Rep. Wes Goodman, who resigned due to scandal in November. Riordan McClain, a 2002 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, was selected by a panel of GOP lawmakers to fill the seat that his father, Jeff McClain, served from 2008 to 2014.

Dog license purchases due by Jan. 31

The Wyandot County Auditor’s Office would like to remind residents that 2018 dog licenses now are on sale and must be purchased by Jan. 31 to avoid the late penalty charge. Licenses are required for all dogs 3 months of age and older and are $16 each.

Wynford BOE passes resolutions to seek renewal of operating levies

BUCYRUS — The Wynford Board of Education approved a pair of resolutions to send a pair of renewal levies to the electorate during Wednesday’s meeting. The first levy is for current operating expenses at a rate not exceeding 6.90 mills and the second provides for the emergency requirements of the school district in the sum of $350,000 for three years.
