SYCAMORE — Fire Chief Rodney Clinger reported the Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department had received two grants Tuesday at the Sycamore Village Council meeting. The department received a grant from the Bureau of Worker’s Compensation for $30,900 for Stryker power cots, which dramatically reduce strenuous lifting and the associated risk of back injury.

MARSEILLES — Marseilles Village Council met in regular session Tuesday. No new business items were approved, but several old business items were discussed.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Wyandot County FFA chapters held a Chapter Degree FFA Banquet to recognize members and present each with the silver chapter degree pin Feb. 5 at Riverdale. A Total of 47 FFA members from Carey, Mohawk, Riverdale and Upper Sandusky received their Chapter Degrees.

CAREY — The Carey FFA and The American Red Cross recently worked together to host a blood drive. The drive netted 36 donors and collected 34 units of blood.

All participants of Farm Service Agency programs who request program benefits are required to submit a completed CCC-902 (Farming Operation Plan) and CCC-941 Average Gross Income certification and consent to disclosure of tax information to be considered for payment eligibility and payment limitation applicable for the program benefits.

CAREY — The Wyandot County FFA chapters (Carey, Mohawk, Riverdale and Upper Sandusky) are currently selling fresh strawberries. The proceeds from the sale will be used to conduct and support Wyandot County FFA activities.
