Fairhaven gives back

Residents at Fairhaven Community in Upper Sandusky created the Giving Tree program to give back to local businesses and groups in Wyandot County. Residents, staff and families helped collect Easter items for a local family for the program’s first initiative, The Good Egg Project.

Clean up your meds while spring cleaning

As many of us look at spring as a time to refresh and clean up the clutter and disorganization in our homes, I would like to bring attention to a very important task involving medications. I would like to share information that I received from The Drug Free Action Alliance on the storing and disposing of medications.

WMH offers free vein screenings

General surgeon Dr. Peter Schuler will provide free vein screenings from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 3 and 17 at VeinCare, near the north entrance at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky. The screenings will include a brief varicose vein risk factor questionnaire and consultation with Schuler, who treats varicose and spider veins with radiofrequency ablation, sclerotherapy injections and VeinGogh.

Meeting minutes: April 25, 2017

President Barb Grasz called the April meeting of the Catholic Ladies of Columbia to order with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Rosemary Smalley gave the treasurer’s report and Sue Hoepf and Vicky Smith gave an update on sick and shut-in members.

USHS senior wins award

COLUMBUS — Upper Sandusky High School senior Alaney Oney is the Wyandot County recipient of the 28th annual Franklin B. Walter All-Scholastic Award sponsored by the Ohio Educational Service Center Association. Oney, a daughter of Nick and Deanna Oney of Upper Sandusky, recently received a plaque at an awards luncheon in Columbus.
