UF bands perform ‘It’s All About that Claus’ FINDLAY — The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble recently performed “It’s All About that Claus.” The annual Christmas concert is conducted by Jack Taylor, university director of bands and music professor. Local students who were in the concert were Nicholas Koehler, of Upper Sandusky, and Austin Stevens, of Bucyrus.

Upcoming Red Cross blood drives

TOLEDO — As freezing temperatures and harsh weather grip much of the nation, the American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to make an appointment to give blood or platelets to help meet the constant need for blood this winter.

JayLynn Rose Altvater

Kittie and Dustin Altvater, of Sycamore, are the parents of a girl, JayLynn Rose Altvater. She was born at 2:18 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 at Galion Community Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 inches long. The maternal grandparents are Red and Becky Williams. The paternal grandparents are Shirley Altvater and the late Dwight Altvater.

Lauren A. and Clint A. Richey, of Upper Sandusky, are the parents of a boy, Jonathan Troy Richey. He was born at 3:12 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Memory loss support group to meet

The Wyandot County area support group for caregivers of those with memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease or other causes will continue to meet through 2017 on the third Tuesday of each month, beginning at noon Jan. 17 at Fairhaven Community, 850 Marseilles Ave.

UF choir members sought

FINDLAY — The University of Findlay Concert-Chorale, which includes students and community members, is recruiting choristers for its April 2 spring concert featuring Gabriel Faure’s pieces, including “Requiem.” An audition is required to join the group, but no preparation is necessary.
