Heather and Albert Brodman of Upper Sandusky are the parents of a boy. Barren Charles Brodman was born at 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He was 19 inches long and weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces. Maternal grandparents are Beckie Patchett and Dan Patchett. Paternal grandparents are Charles and Teresa Brodman.

WHARTON — The annual Wharton Halloween judging was held last week with more than 60 participants at the township building and firehouse prior to trick-or-treating.

Kappa Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, a women’s educational society, met at Carey’s Basilica of Our Lady of Consolation on Oct. 21 for a guided tour. Friar Ian of the Conventual Franciscan Friars guided the group through the basement and sanctuary of the Basilica.
