The Wyandot County Department of Job and Family Services has been commemorating Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month over the past two weeks in a number of ways. On Wednesday, county officials got children involved.

Two Upper Sandusky women sustained incapacitating injuries following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on Ohio 53 just north of Ohio 67. Patricia J. Brown, 81, was traveling southbound on Ohio 53 at 8:16 a.m. when she failed to see a vehicle driven by Theresa Corfman, 59, that was stopped in traffic for a work zone area being set up by Ohio Department of Transportation workers.

It’s time to get cookin’. The What’s Cookin’ cookbook discussion group, a program of the Upper Sandusky Community Library, will celebrate the start of its fourth year with a book release party before its regular April meeting.

While many area children may have been watching cartoons or snoring away their Saturday morning, about 300 area youth were exploring and learning about new talents and a variety of other topics that interest them.

As area residents dress for work, school and other activities on Wednesday, the Wyandot County Department of Job and Family Services is asking them to consider wearing blue in support of Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Month and the Ohio Wears Blue Day campaign.

MARION — They don’t receive the accolades their classmates do for their performances on the basketball court, baseball diamond, volleyball court or even the school musical. In fact, it may be one of the more obscure extra-curricular activities in the Upper Sandusky school district.
