Logan Dible, a summer work crew member in the city of Upper Sandusky, paints a light green pole in a new shade of black in the downtown area earlier this week. The summer work crew has been busy painting all of the poles in the downtown area.

Fire remains under investigation

SYCAMORE — The cause of a fire that destroyed a Sycamore business on Monday morning remains under investigation by the Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office. The state Fire Marshal’s Office arrived at the scene of the fire at Terry’s Market, 106 N. Sycamore Ave., just before noon Monday.

Service dog

Bo, a 2 1/2-year-old golden retriever, lays in the shade during the Wyandot County Museum’s annual ice cream social Saturday. Owned by Carey council president and U.S. veteran Armand Getz, Bo is expected to complete his training to be a service dog for veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder by Veterans Day.

Around 200-250 volunteers in the village of Carey helped move items from the old school building on East South Street to the new location on South Vance Street on Monday.

Church in the park

Joe Torrillo signs drawings of himself for a long line of guests at the 11th annual Church in the Park in Forest on Sunday. Torrillo, a retired New York firefighter, shared his experiences from Sept. 11, 2001, when he was buried in the rubble of the World Trade Center twice.
