After many years of waiting, an Upper Sandusky native finally is getting his chance to address his hometown and talk about his service to his country. Col. Keith Newell, a United States Air Force veteran, is the featured guest speaker at Upper Sandusky’s Memorial Day ceremony Monday.

PIQUA — Shane Pack wasn’t at his best, but he was good enough to advance. A state placer in the discus last year, Pack will be back in Columbus for the same event next week after tossing a throw of 147-3 in the Division II regional track and field competition at Piqua on Thursday.

FINDLAY — Approximately 120 people attended a public hearing of the Hancock County Flood-Risk Reduction Program at the Winebrenner Theological Seminary in Findlay on Wednesday. The goal of the project is to lessen the flood conditions that are results of heavy rainfall.
