GALION — Upper Sandusky dropped a pair of close duals to open its wrestling season, losing 39-36 to Ashland Crestivew and 44-33 to Northmor in a quad meet Wednesday at Northmor. The opener for the Rams came down to the final match with the Cougars’ Brent Eicher holding on for a 2-1 victory with the match tied at 36.

FOSTORIA — In the first half, the 3-point shooting of Mohawk guard Austin Tusing and guard/forward Hunter Gottfried kept the Warriors ahead. In the second half, it was the free throw shooting of Zach Hayman as well as Keith Jenkins and Tusing that enabled the Mohawk boys basketball team to hold off Fostoria’s comeback attempt in the late third quarter and early fourth quarter for a 67-53 victory over Fostoria on Tuesday at Fostoria High School.
