Physicals today at USHS

Upper Sandusky High School and SportsCare at Wyandot Memorial Hospital are partnering to offer athletic physicals today for students entering seventh through 12th grades. WMH staff and local chiropractors will provide physical exams for a $15 donation to the USHS athletic department. The money raised will help purchase supplies for district teams.

Soccer camp set for next month

The Upper Sandusky Rams boys soccer camp is June 17-20. Camp for students entering first through fourth grades is slated for 9-10:30 a.m., while camp for students entering fifth through eighth grades is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Rams playing in regionals

Upper Sandusky plays Archbold in the Division III baseball regional finals at 2 p.m. Thursday at Elida Middle School. Admission is $7 for adults and students.

Colonel Crawford tops Mohawk to capture first district title in 54 years

GALION — In their three matchups against the Colonel Crawford baseball team this season, Mohawk scored two runs in 25 innings. Seven of those 25 innings were in Friday’s district final at Galion High School, a complete-game pitching performance by Gavin Feichtner, in which he only allowed one run and three hits in the Eagles’ 8-1 victory over the Warriors.

TIFFIN — Talking about it brought Wynford coach Amber (Rall) Groves to tears. She knows all too well what star runner Alizhah Watson is experiencing. Groves, who had her senior season cut short at regionals in 2002 because of a pulled hamstring, watched as Watson came up limping with an injury during the 400 relay in the regional finals Friday at Heidelberg University’s Hoernemann Stadium in Tiffin.

Lykins, Reinhart lead Blue Devils at Fairfield Union regional

LANCASTER — Carey’s girls excelled in regional competition far from home Friday, qualifying for state in four events in Division III competition at Fairfield Union near Lancaster. The Blue Devils’ Addystin Lykins earned a state bid in the 200 and 400 dashes, Sarah Reinhart qualified for state in the 3200 run, and the Blue Devils appear to be headed for state as a wild card in the 800 relay.
