DOLA — Riverdale’s boys and girls were winners in a season-opening quad meet Tuesday at Hardin Northern. The Falcons boys topped the Polar Bears, 97.5-81.5, with Arlington scoring 56 points and Lima Temple Christian finishing with 19 points.

CALEDONIA — The Wynford boys track and field team was a winner in its season-opening meet Tuesday at River Valley. Rams explode for 12-run inning against Kenton

KENTON — After being held to six runs in a season-opening doubleheader against Bellevue on Saturday, Upper Sandusky’s offense exploded for 12 runs in the sixth inning of a 19-8 softball victory against Kenton on Monday. The Rams (1-2) led 7-5 at the time, having scored two or more runs in each of the three innings prior after Kenton took an early 3-0 lead.

SYCAMORE — With only seven combined hits, neither Mohawk nor Wynford got much offense going in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball opener Monday, but the Warriors made the most of their chances, taking a 4-1 victory.

Farmer, Taylor lead Riverdale to win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale edged Carey, 2-1, in a non-league softball game Monday to start the season with a win. The Falcons got on the board early by way of an inside-the-park home run by Janessa Taylor in the second inning.

Trusty drives in 6 to lead Warriors

SYCAMORE — Mohawk had a pair of double-digit innings while taking a 26-4 season-opening softball victory Monday against Wynford. The Warriors (1-0, 1-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) plated 11 runs in the first inning and 13 in the third, while scoring two runs in between.

Kenton’s Nichols shuts out Upper Sandusky, 1-0

Arik Schneider gave up just one run, but he was outdueled by Luke Nichols in a 1-0 Kenton baseball victory against Upper Sandusky on Monday. Nichols (1-0) allowed only four hits and one walk with four strikeouts, while Schneider (1-1) gave up seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts.
