BUCYRUS — With a “crash of drums” and “a flash of light,” the Wynford drama department will perform “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” In the show, Joseph retells the Biblical story from the book of Genesis through musical numbers with styles ranging from rock to country and even calypso.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio State Fair continues will offer a diverse entertainment lineup this fall, including comedy, R&B, classic rock, country, Christian and pop.

BUCYRUS — In an effort to honor her late grandmother, Wynford High School student Tara Zinser helped raise $4,599.13 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and presented that money during a ceremony in the school library Wednesday.

FOREST — A Marseilles Township family was not injured when fire destroyed their home Wednesday. Four or five people who were inside the home at 11882 TH 76 when the fire started got out of the house before firefighters arrived, but the home was a total loss, a Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office report states.

A 47-year-old North Bloomington man died Wednesday during a kayaking accident on the Sandusky River. Authorities recovered the body of William “Mike” Shanaberger submerged underneath a capsized kayak about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, following a nearly two-hour long search.

Felisha A. Williams, Willard, was indicted the morning of March 1 at Huron County Jail and transported to Wyandot County for burglary and trespassing in a habitation. Dennis R. McKinley II, Patterson, was returned to Lebanon Correctional Institution, Lebanon; and Caleb B. Baas, Lancaster, was transported to Correctional Reception Center, Orient, the morning of March 2 to begin an 11-month prison sentence after being found guilty in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court of trafficking in counterfeit controlled substance.

With a new production practice in place, Uni-Grip is eyeing improved future performance. The Upper Sandusky rubber and trim manufacturer unveiled its new salt bath rubber curing line during a meeting with several community members last week.

SYCAMORE — Jerry Anderson, news anchor at WTOL in Toledo, was the guest speaker at the 70th annual shareholder meeting of FNB Banchares Inc., the single-bank holding company for First National Bank of Sycamore. Nearly 300 shareholders, guests and employees gathered at the Sycamore Community Center for a meal prepared by volunteers from Sycamore United Church of Christ and served by members of Mohawk FCCLA.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS) recently launched the My Safer Ohio Business clearinghouse as a way to make it easier for businesses, law enforcement and public safety organizations to connect with the purpose of building a stronger, more prepared and safer Ohio.

MARSEILLES — Local elected officials and organization leaders met at Angle Back in Marseilles for the quarterly mayors breakfast Tuesday. The meeting began with a welcome from Wyandot County Commissioner Ron Metzger, Marseilles Mayor Rick Arnold and a brief history lesson from Marseilles councilmember Charlotte Leeth.
