Local parents learn more about keeping their children safe online

As more children are engaging in risky online behaviors, internet safety expert Jesse Weinberger gave a presentation on internet safety to local parents Tuesday evening at Upper Sandusky Middle School. Weinberger’s presentation covered sexting, cyber bullying, all of the social media outlets that are available to children, the risks and consequences of using social media in the incorrect fashion and ways that child predators use social media and the internet.

Crall scored 34 points, including 17 points in the fourth quarter and overtime, but Ashland Crestview rallied from an early deficit and then held on in double overtime 55-54 in a Division III sectional semifinal game at Hopewell-Loudon.

Power crews respond to a downed line along Ohio 231 Monday after a fallen tree knocked out power in Nevada and surrounding areas Sunday evening. According to AEP Spokesperson Karen Salajko, 516 customers lost power at 6:22 p.m. Sunday.

CAREY — Led by Anthony Bell’s 41 points, top-seeded Carey beat No. 2 seed Mohawk 74-63 in the championship of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball tournament Saturday at Carey. Also scoring for the Blue Devils (21-1) were Ashton Hill with 15 points, Collin Ferguson with 9 points, Derek Lonsway with 4 points, Cameron Pahl with 2 point, Riley Brooks with 2 points and Easton Korody with 1 point.

Science fair returns to Wynford

BUCYRUS — Wynford High School freshmen students Daniel Kurek and Natalie Stover will be the first students to represent the Royals at the March 23 District Science Fair at OSU Marion in 11 years, after receiving superior ratings on their projects at the Wynford Local Science Fair Saturday.
