“Dr. Ike,” Isaac Orians performs Saturday evening at the grand opening of The Parlor Room of Don Tomasso’s Italian & American Kitchen. The Parlor Room, so named after the “Beverly Hillbillies,” will play host to private events of 50 people or smaller, paint and pour events and Thursday wine tastings.

McLaughlin tops Ball for his 4th Match Game title in last 5 years

With Roger Ball closing in on his lead late in the third game Sunday, Don McLaughlin showed why he has become Wyandot Lanes’ top bowler. McLaughlin converted a 2-4-10 split on the ninth frame to erase any chance of a Ball comeback in the championship of the Wyandot Match Game Invitational, and he went on to take a 662-607 series victory to win his fourth title in the last five years and his tournament-record fifth championship overall in the 34-year-old tournament.

The American Red Cross held a blood drive Friday afternoon at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. ARC representative Courtney Engelkes said the ARC is still in a blood emergency and is in need of donors after harsh winter weather in January forced several blood drives to be canceled. Award-winning children’s author David Fitzsimmons signed autographs in many of his popular ‘Curious Critters’ books before giving a presentation at the Upper Sandusky Community Library on Thursday evening. Fitzsimmons shared his stories and photography to a packed house in the library basement.
