GALION — Colonel Crawford took advantage of home course advantage to win the Northern 10 Athletic Conference Shootout on Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course.

The Eagles shot 163, with Wynford taking second place over Upper Sandusky 168-172. Carey was fourth at 186, and Mohawk wound up seventh at 208.

Clay Rogers’ outstanding round was not enough for Wynford to top Colonel Crawford. He was five strokes than anyone else on the day with a 2-under-par 34 that included birdies on Nos. 1 and 2 and an eagle on No. 4.

Reed Johnson was next best for the Royals with a 43, followed by Jaron Vance at 45. Both Levi McLaughlin and Drew Stanek shot 46s, and Owen Prenger finished at 47.

Upper Sandusky’s Toby Holman lead in the individual player standings for the season was cut by just one point as he finished second overall with a 39 that included one birdie. Levi Swavel shot 42, Arden Stansbery finished at 44, and Seth Smith contributed a 47 toward the team total.

Gage Thiel (52) and Sam Gibson (54) rounded out the lineup.

Carey’s Chase Mullholand was fourth overall with a 41, while Porter McLaughlin shot 46. Andrew Resendez finished at 48, and Oliver Brooks’ 51 stood as the final individual score to count. Landon Roberts (52) and Jordan Hertel (55) also competed.

Brady Hannam and Evan Mullholand both had 50s to lead Mohawk, with Kaedyn Harper shooting 53 and Ryker Vanderlaar 55.

Brexton Scherger’s 58 served as the tiebreaker after both the Warriors and Redmen finished at 208. Bucyrus’ Aiden Jones had a 59 for his team’s fifth score. Brock Kelbley (64) rounded out the lineup for the Warriors.

The Eagles had the most consistent scores in the tournament with four players tying for fourth place or better. Bryce Durham was third with a 40. Bryant Berry, Evan Keller and Colton Hopkins all had 41s. Graden Riggle was right behind at 42.

With one shootout and the N10 tournament remaining, Upper Sandusky maintains its lead in the standings at 31-4, followed by Wynford at 28-7 and then Colonel Crawford at 27-8. Carey is fourth with a 24-11 record, while Mohawk dropped a spot to sixth at 10-25.
