Marcus Miller, who will be a junior at Carey High School, scored a hole-in-one on No. 5 at Stone Crossing Golf Course on June 24. He used a 9-iron on the 152-yard par 3, and the feat was witnessed by his grandfather.

Montgomery 2nd in HOJGA tourney

GALION — Upper Sandusky’s Brett Montgomery was runner-up in the 13-15 division in the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament Monday at Valley View Golf Course. Montgomery shot an 81, finishing two strokes behind winner Max McCloy, of Pleasant.

Soccer sign-up due by Friday

SYCAMORE — The Sycamore Soccer League is accepting registrations through Friday. Area players who turn age 5 by Aug. 1 through eighth grade are welcomed for the recreational league.

Beaschler cards 47 for second at HOJGA tourney in Kenton

KENTON — Wynford’s Jacob Beaschler was second in the 12-and-under division of the Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Kenton on Thursday. Beaschler shot a nine-hole 47, including two pars, for second place behind Marion Pleasant’s Minoy Shah, who shot 44 to top the field.
