Colonel Crawford stuns Mohawk

SYCAMORE – Colonel Crawford’s struggling offense exploded Tuesday to help the Eagles pick up their first baseball victory of the season, 10-4, at Mohawk. The Eagles (1-5, 1-4 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) came in having scored only six runs in five games so far but found success right away against the Warriors with three runs in the first inning.

Carey holds off Mohawk, 7-4

SYCAMORE — Carey scored three times in each of the first two innings and then held off Mohawk, 7-4, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday. The Blue Devils (5-0, 4-0 N10) scored another run in the fifth inning, while the Warriors (4-4, 2-3 N10) scored all four of their runs in the bottom of the seventh, leaving one runner on base when the final out was recorded.

Mohawk girls win home tri

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s girls topped Colonel Crawford, 63-51.5, for first place in a tri-meet Monday at Mohawk. Seneca East was third with 40.5 points. Colonel Crawford’s boys edged Seneca East, 68-64, with Mohawk third with 24 points.

SYCAMORE — Blayc Hacker shut out Mohawk for the second straight game, and Hailey Niederkohr helped provide just enough offense in a 2-0 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play Monday in Sycamore. Hacker (4-0) gave up five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts.

Rodriguez has 4 hits in Upper’s 13-5 victory

MORRAL — Jenna Rodriguez had four hits and drove in four runs as Upper Sandusky took a 13-5 victory against Ridgedale on Monday in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game. Rodriguez had three singles and a double, while Hannah McKinniss hit a two-run home run.

Upper boys, girls win tri-meet

NEW WASHINGTON — Upper Sandusky’s boys and girls won big in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference tri-meet Monday at Buckeye Central. The Rams girls scored 104 points, with Buckeye Central finishing with 48 and Ridgedale with 12.

MORRAL — Upper Sandusky scored a combined nine runs in the third and fourth innings of a 10-4 victory against Ridgedale in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play Monday. The Rams (5-3, 2-1 N10) scored three times in the third inning, and after the Rockets (3-3, 0-3 N10) scored twice in the bottom of the third, Upper Sandusky came back with six runs in the fourth. It added one more in the fifth.

Royals’ Noah Smith strikes out 13

NORTH ROBINSON — Three days after his brother dominated Colonel Crawford hitters, Noah Smith did the same on Monday, throwing a one-hit, 13-strikeout shutout in a 6-0 Wynford victory Monday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball action.
