Miller has 3 hits in win

CAREY — Carey needed only four innings at the plate to score 10 times and run-rule Arcadia, 10-0, in a nonconference baseball game Friday. The Blue Devils (21-1) scored twice in the first inning and four times in both the second and fourth innings.

Arcadia shuts out Carey

CAREY — In its last regular season game, the Carey softball team got seven hits but was not able to score any runs in a 6-0 nonconference loss to Arcadia on Friday at Water Works Park. The Redskins scored two runs in the first inning and four in the fifth.

Riverdale wins to set up rematch with Carey

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Since the first game of their season, the Riverdale baseball players have had their eyes set on avenging an early loss against Carey. After defeating Arlington 12-4 Thursday at Falcon Field in a Division IV sectional final game, the rematch against Carey will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Findlay Marathon Diamond.

CAREY — It didn’t take the Carey baseball team long to prove that a first round exit wouldn’t happen this year. The Blue Devils scored three runs in the first inning, seven in the second and two in the fifth on the way to a 12-2 run-rule victory over Upper Scioto Valley in the Division IV sectional final.

SYCAMORE — Hannah Jordan threw a no-hitter and got plenty of run support as Mohawk thumped Mansfield Christian, 32-0, in a Division IV sectional final softball game Thursday in Sycamore. The Warriors (16-7) won their eighth straight game and captured their 16th straight sectional championship, a string that began in their 2003 state championship season.

Pair of big inning lift Mohawk past Crestline

SYCAMORE — Once Mohawk got a lead, it settled in on defense and eventually pulled away with a 10-4 victory against Crestline in a Division IV sectional final game Thursday at Mohawk. The Warriors answered the Bulldogs two runs in the top of the second inning by scoring five in the bottom and did not trail again.

Seneca East walks off with 5-4 win over Wynford

ATTICA — Wynford coach Jamee Burke had the look of a person who just had the rug pulled out from under her. In a figurative sense, she had. Her Royals took a one-run lead on Seneca East in the top of seventh, but the Tigers came back with two in the bottom of the inning — the second coming with two outs — to defeat Wynford, 5-4, in a Division IV sectional final at Seneca East.
