Bucyrus pulls out 4-1 win over Upper

Nearly every match was competitive, but Bucyrus came away a 4-1 winner against Upper Sandusky in a girls tennis match Thursday at Upper Sandusky. The Rams (2-6) got their only win in the No. 1 doubles match in which Mara Smalley and Abby Davidson were 7-5, 6-2 winners against Sarah Lipscomb and Sarah Scott.

Short-handed because of the Wyandot County Fair, the Upper Sandusky girls golf team dropped a 213-245 decision against Hopewell-Loudon in a nonleague match Thursday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Playing without Katie Conley, Kendra Conley and Grace Sayre, the Rams (2-10) were led by Hally Courtad with a 56.

The Upper Sandusky boys golf team capped off an undefeated dual season with a 159-191 victory against Hopewell-Loudon on Thursday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The Rams (11-0) got their usual outstanding performance from Brett Montgomery with a 35 but also got strong outings from the rest of the lineup to produce a season-best score.

Carey tops Mohawk, CC

TIFFIN — Carey closed out Northern 10 Athletic Conference play with a win, while Mohawk earned its first victory of the season in a boys golf tri-match Thursday at Seneca Hills Golf Club. The Blue Devils topped the Warriors, 182-211, in N10 play, and earned a 182-226 decision over the Eagles.

MORRAL — Carey inched to within a win of .500 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference with a 25-15, 25-17, 25-20 victory against Ridgedale in a road volleyball match Thursday night. McKenzie Row dominated all-around, finishing with a team-leading 13 kills, 17 digs and four aces. Bailey Tanner had seven kills, while Sadie Arend was a force at the net with five kills and four blocks.

Warriors girls top Eagles

TIFFIN — Mohawk picked up a win against Colonel Crawford but lost to Seneca East in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf match it hosted Thursday at Seneca Hills Golf Course. Led by Alayna Kindle’s 52, the Warriors (2-10, 2-8 N10) topped the Eagles (2-9, 2-8 N10) by 14 strokes, 236-250, to create a three-way tie along with Upper Sandusky for fourth place entering the N10 tournament.

Forehand leads SE to win

TIFFIN — Jake Forehand shot a 1-under-par 34 to lead Seneca East to a 158-182 victory against Wynford to wrap up Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf dual play Thursday at Clinton Heights Golf Course. Turner Bridgeford and Andrew Kalb both backed Forehand with a 41, while Andy Bauman shot a 42 for the Tigers (8-3, 5-3 N10).

ATTICA — Jessica Bowerman had 17 assists, nine digs, seven aces and four kills to lead Seneca East to a 25-11, 25-13, 25-16 victory against Wynford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Thursday. Lauren Bogner had 19 digs and six aces for the Tigers (5-7, 4-3 N10). Alexis Hicks added five kills and five blocks.
