When Upper Sandusky junior Brett Montgomery was 3 years old, he picked up a golf club for the first time. Five years later, he played on a golf course for the first time, and at age 11, he played in his first tournament.

The Mohawk Boosters’ fourth annual reverse raffle is tonight at the Sycamore Community Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m.

WALDO — The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association honored guest speaker Ralph Ballenger, a notable golfer, doctor, teacher and champion of many Ohio amateur tournaments during the ’30s, ’40s, ’50s and ’60s including the Ohio Senior Amateur winner three times.

Like other high school football teams across the state, the Upper Sandusky football team opened practice from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday behind the Upper Sandusky Athletic Complex.

The Riverdale mini cheerleading team took first place on Saturday at the Seneca County Fair.

Upper Sandusky all-sport passes are available for the 2018-19 school year. These passes allow people to attend all Upper Sandusky High School and Upper Sandusky Middle School home athletic contests, excluding tournaments and the Swankhouse Invitational track and field meet.

The Carey varsity cheerleading team took first place at both the Seneca County Fair and the Vanlue Festival on Saturday.
