ATTICA — For most of one quarter Saturday night, Upper Sandusky looked like its dominant self. That was enough. The Rams forced Seneca East into 11 turnovers in the second quarter, carrying them to a 59-51 road victory. Upper Sandusky (18-0, 12-0 N10) outscored the Tigers (8-9, 4-9 N10) 25-8 in the only quarter it won.

SYCAMORE — Playing for the third time in five days, Upper Sandusky’s girls basketball team played well enough to accomplish one of its goals — the outright Northern 10 Athletic Conference championship. The Rams built a lead big enough early to stand for a 45-34 victory at Mohawk, giving Upper Sandusky its first league championship since it won the North Central Conference in 2013.

Upper Sandusky earned the No. 2 seed and a bye during girls basketball district tournament draws held Sunday. No. 4 Norwalk (14-4) and No. 12 Clear Fork (1-16) will meet at 8 p.m. Feb. 22 for the right to face the Rams (19-1) in the sectional finals at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Monroeville as part of the Division II Willard district.

SYCAMORE — Coming back from down double digits on back-to-back nights was too much to ask. Mohawk fell behind by as many as 22 points and couldn’t make it all up in a 60-50 loss to Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference game Saturday. The road team led wire-to-wire. Zach Hoffman made four 3s and led three Wynford scorers in double figures with 16 points. Caleb Rausch had 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting and 12 rebounds.

CAREY — Sydney Kin and Amber Nash combined for 36 points as Carey routed Ridgedale, 62-30, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game Saturday. Kin had 19 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks, while Nash knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 17 points. Noel Orians added seven points and four assists.

BUCYRUS — Megan Siesel scored 33 points and added seven steals and four assists as Seneca East downed Wynford, 68-33, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game Saturday. Marina Adachi nearly added a triple-double with 20 points, 11 assists and eight steals. Bonnie Bivens had eight points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (9-9, 8-7 N10)

VANLUE — Trey Bame had 17 points and five steals, while Cody Luzader finished with 16 points as Carey took a 68-50 victory at Vanlue in a non-conference boys basketball game Saturday night. Griffin Summit added 12 points for Carey, which actually trailed 9-8 after one quarter. The Blue Devils (10-7) pushed ahead 25-17 by halftime and led 41-30 after three quarters.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Miller City took control early in a 61-31 boys basketball victory against Riverdale on Saturday night. The Wildcats (11-4) led 21-3 after one quarter and 38-9 at halftime. They extended their lead slightly in the third quarter to 47-15.
