Hayden makes regional finals in 300 hurdles

LEXINGTON — Upper Sandusky’s Kenedi Hayden advanced to the finals in the girls 300 hurdles Thursday in the Division II regional track and field meet at Lexington. Hayden finished second in her heat in a time of 48.41. The top two in each heat plus the next four fastest times from either heat advance to the finals Saturday.

TIFFIN — Just like two years ago, Wynford’s boys sprinters just keep getting better. The Royals qualified both the 400 and 800 relays for the finals of regionals, along with Alizhah Watson in the 400 dash, on Wednesday in Division III action at Tiffin Columbian’s Frost-Kalnow Stadium.

Carey’s Niederkohr named N10 player of year

N10 players of the year

Carey’s Hailey Niederkohr was named the player of the year in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. She was joined as a first-team selection by teammates Blayc Hacker and Felicite Smith, Mohawk’s Hannah Jordan, Madi Chester and Tess Weinandy, Upper Sandusky’s Alivia Oney and Wynford’s Jenna Coffman.

After taking the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s top honors, Carey’s Trey Bame and Joey Roark repeated in District 9 as player and coach of the year in Division III. District 9 divides division based on schools within the district so some schools are not in the same division as their OHSAA designation.
