Upper native hopes experience leads to success in new role

COLUMBUS — New OHSAA Executive Director Jerry Snodgrass has always had a love for sports, but where that passion started, and what he learned along the way, has stuck with him to this day. On May 4, the OHSAA Board of Directors announced that Snodgrass, an Upper Sandusky native and 1973 graduate of Upper Sandusky High School, would be the OHSAA’s next executive director.

Softball tourney set in Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — The Bucyrus Softball Association will host a men’s and co-ed softball tournament in conjunction with the 51st annual Bratwurst Festival from Aug. 17-19. The three-day tournament will be played within the guidelines of the 2018 NSA rulebook unless otherwise noted.

The ninth grade AAU team sponsored by Donald M. Graham and Associates traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, last week to compete in NTBA National Championships and finished 6-2 overall, winning the silver bracket championship.

Tennis tourney scheduled July 28-29 in Kenton

KENTON — The Kenton High school boys and girls tennis teams are hosting a tennis tournament July 28-29 at the Kenton High School tennis courts as a fundraiser for new equipment like a ball machine. Matches begin at 9 a.m. both days with a guarantee to play at least two matches in the event.
