Mohawk grad named OAC golfer of week

AUSTINTOWN — Capital University senior Katelynn Kinley was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week by the conference office on Monday. Kinley, a native of Sycamore and graduate of Mohawk High School, set a new personal low and placed her name among some of Capital’s best golfers after 18 holes on Saturday.

Carey’s Reinhart wins in Spencerville

SPENCERVILLE — Carey freshman Sarah Reinhart won her second race of the season by taking first place in the Red Division of the Spencerville Invitational on Saturday. Reinhart finished in 20:39.6 to top runner-up Paige Boehringer of Covington by 17.5 seconds.

Grothaus’ 89 leads Devils at Birch Run

NORTH BALTIMORE — Led by Dylan Grothaus’ 89, Carey finished fifth Saturday in the North Baltimore Tiger Invitational at Birch Run Golf Course. The Blue Devils finished with a 375. Woodmore edged Patrick Henry for the team title, 353-357. Lake (363) and McComb (373) also finished ahead of Carey.

No. 9 Archbold downs Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale played nearly even in shots but fell to Division III No. 9 Archbold, 3-0, in a home boys soccer match Saturday. The Blue Streaks (6-1) scored once in the first half and twice in the second half, getting goals from Elijah Zimmerman, Josh Kidder and Javier Peche.
