St. Peter’s tops Upper, 1-0

MANSFIELD — Julia Rizzo scored a first-half goal on a direct kick, and that stood for Mansfield St. Peter’s to take a 1-0 victory against Upper Sandusky in a nonconference girls soccer match Tuesday. Rizzo’s goal came less than 12 minutes into the match, which did not see another goal over the final 58-plus minutes.

Consistent Royals top CC

GALION — Wynford had consistent scores throughout the lineup in taking a 184-216 victory against Colonel Crawford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf play Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course. Logen Sand, Kayleb Keaton and Mitch Zaebst all shared medalist honors with 45s.

Evak leads Buckeye to win

NEW WASHINGTON — Lexi Evak had 14 kills to lead Buckeye Central to a 25-10, 25-12, 25-20 victory against Wynford to open Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Tuesday night. Allison Weithman passed out 28 assists and had nine digs and two aces, while Kendra Ackerman had nine digs and four kills.

Carey drops volleyball opener to Seneca East in 4 sets

ATTICA — With all of the sets tight, Seneca East was able to knock off Carey in four, 25-21, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21, in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball action Tuesday night. McKenzie Row led the Blue Devils (0-1, 0-1 N10) in their opener with 11 kills, 16 digs and three aces. Bailey Tanner added seven kills.

Rams step up in golf win against Buckeye

BUCYRUS — Caity Schiefer shot a 43 to help the Wynford girls golf team remain undefeated in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play with a 207-232 victory against Colonel Crawford on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. Schiefer finished the day with five pars for a season-best score for the Royals (7-2, 4-0 N10).

Falcons top Pirates, 3-1

BLUFFTON — Only two matches into the season, and the Riverdale volleyball team has equalled its win total from last year. After winning only once all of last year, the Falcons were winners in their second match this season, beating Bluffton, 21-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22, on Monday night.

Edison sweeps Upper

MILAN — Edison swept Upper Sandusky, 5-0, in girls tennis action Tuesday. In singles, Mariah Medina topped Jodi Smalley, 6-1, 6-4, in the No. 1 match, while at No. 2, Jayla Medina was a 6-0, 6-4 winner against Emma Schoenberger.
