The loss drops Riverdale to .500 at 3-3 overall, 2-2 in the Blanchard Valley Conference. Liberty-Benton improves to 2-4 and 2-2 in the BVC.

CAREY — Mohawk junior setter Alexa Konkle, after a bump was hit her way, looked like she was going to set the ball for an outside hitter, but instead, hit it over the middle of the net for a kill. Four plays later, sophomore middle hitter Paityn Clouse slid behind Konkle, who set the ball, from the right side. After Konkle’s set, Clouse’s kill gave the Warriors a 12-point second-set lead.

GALION — Mohawk’s Logan Drum earned a spot in the district tournament during Division III sectional play Thursday at Valley View Golf Course. Drum shot an 85 to earn one of three individual qualifying spots for players not on qualifying teams.

Kenedi Hayden pounded 30 kills but it was not enough as Ridgedale rallied past Upper Sandusky, 17-25, 25-27, 25-22, 25-21, 15-13, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday night.

BUCYRUS — Colonel Crawford snapped Wynford’s three match winning streak with a 25-20, 25-15, 25-16 victory Thursday night at Wynford.

ARLINGTON — Carey’s Ethan Tanner shot a career-best 85 to earn a spot in the district tournament during Division III sectional boys golf play Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course.

KALIDA — Brett Montgomery medaled and Upper Sandusky won the championship Thursday in the Division II sectional golf tournament at Country Acres Golf Course.

OLD FORT — Jaidyn Thiel tied the school record with seven goals in a 10-2 Upper Sandusky victory Thursday in a nonconference boys soccer match at Old Fort.

ADA — Jackson Clark’s unassisted goal was enough as the Riverdale boys soccer team took a 1-0 North Central Ohio Soccer Association victory against Ada on Thursday.

BUCYRUS — Jodi Smalley won a three-hour match to give Upper Sandusky a 3-2 tennis win against Bucyrus on Thursday.
