MOUNT BLANCHARD – Ridgedale needed extra points to top Riverdale in the second set but got it done and went on to sweep Riverdale, 25-16, 28-26, 25-11, on Saturday at Riverdale. Tayler Ashburn led the Falcons (3-10) with seven kills and seven digs, while Bry Vanden Bosch contributed six kills and six digs.

Rams boys beat Harding 3-0, move to .500 on season

The Upper Sandusky boys soccer team picked up its third straight victory and reached .500 on the season with a 3-0 victory against Marion Harding on Saturday. The match was scoreless for more than 51 minutes when Ross Swinehart’s header off the post finally gave the Rams (5-5-2) a 1-0 lead.

MOUNT BLANCHARD – Katelyn Hildebrand scored a pair of second-half goals only a minute apart to help Riverdale pull away with a 3-0 victory against Miller City on Saturday in a nonconference girls soccer match. Hanna Breidenbach got the Falcons (7-3-2) on the board with a goal assisted by Paige Rothlisberger with 26:14 left in the first half.

Carey girls race to third at Buckeye Central Invitational

NEW WASHINGTON — Carey freshman Sarah Reinhart won another race, leading Carey to a third-place team finish in the Buckeye Central Invitational on Saturday. Reinhart finished in 19:53.14, finishing more than three seconds ahead of Mansfield Christian’s Carolina Trumpower. Northmor was the girls team champion, 75-85, over Colonel Crawford, with Carey scoring 111 points.

Arcadia spikes gets past Carey in three games

CAREY – Arcadia won a marathon first set and went on to sweep Carey, 31-29, 25-18, 25-19, in a nonconference volleyball match Saturday at Carey. McKenzie Row paced the Blue Devils (7-10) with 11 kills and 10 digs, while Alaina Tiell contributed seven kills.

CAREY — Upper Sandusky versus Carey may be a rivalry with history, but it still seems like it will take a little time before the annual football game becomes competitive. The Blue Devils (4-2, 2-1 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) took it to Upper Sandusky in the first half Friday night, building an insurmountable lead en route to a 48-13 victory at Carey.

NORTH ROBINSON — The best teams find ways to win. For Mohawk on Friday night, that was by forcing turnovers. The Warriors recovered a pair of fumbles and picked off two passes, holding off Colonel Crawford, 14-7, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference football game in North Robinson.
