MOUNT BLANCHARD — Tyler Hart’s goal with 10:48 remaining gave Riverdale a huge 2-1 victory against Van Buren on Thursday in boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association play.

LEXINGTON — Upper Sandusky’s doubles team of Jodi Smalley and Mara Smalley advanced to the third round but the Rams’ season came to an end during the Division II sectional tournament Thursday at Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington.

FINDLAY — Upper Sandusky junior Brett Montgomery wasn’t sure if he wanted to hit a 2-iron or a driver off of the tee on the 16th hole of Red Hawk Run Golf Course during the district tournament Thursday.

BOWLING GREEN — Mohawk’s Logan Drum shot an 87, while Carey’s Ethan Tanner finished with a 90 on Thursday in the Division III district golf tournament at Stone Ridge Golf Course near Bowling Green.

SYCAMORE — Wynford hung close until late in the first set, but first-place and Division IV state No. 9 Mohawk took over for a 25-15, 25-7, 25-13 victory in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Thursday night.

ATTICA — Jessica Bowerman powered 16 kills as Seneca East finished strong after dropping the first set, taking a 19-25, 25-12, 25-17, 25-17 victory against Upper Sandusky on Thursday night.

LIMA — Led by goalkeeper Cortni Brown, the Upper Sandusky girls soccer team’s defense hung tough for three-fourths of the match, but Lima Bath scored three times in the final 18 minutes to take a 3-0 victory Thursday.

KENTON — Riverdale’s girls were fourth and the boys 10th in the Kenton Kyle Althauser Invitational on Thursday at the Hardin County Fairgrounds. Columbus Grove won the girls title with 31 points, with Wapakoneta second with 68 points. Kenton topped the Falcons, 78-94, for third place.

Cory-Rawson snapped Upper Sandusky’s three-match winning streak with a 4-2 victory in a boys North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Wednesday evening. The Hornets (3-5-4, 1-2-1 NCOSA) outscored the Rams (5-6-2, 0-2-1 NCOSA) 2-1 in each half.

VAN BUREN — Gabby Gearhart scored barely six minutes into the match and that was enough for Van Buren to stay tied atop the girls North Central Ohio Soccer Association standings with a 1-0 victory against Riverdale on Wednesday.
