Stuckman leads Upper to win

BUCYRUS — Sydney Stuckman had seven kills and four aces to lead Upper Sandusky to a 25-18, 25-15, 25-18 victory against Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Saturday. Kenedi Hayden, Reagan Ward and Lily Gibson had four kills apiece, while Ella Orians had three in a balanced attack for the Rams (4-16, 4-10 N10).

Mohawk sweeps Seneca East

ATTICA — Madi Chester had 12 kills to lead Mohawk to a sweep of Seneca East, 25-21, 25-20, 25-20, in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Saturday. Chester added team-highs of two aces and 13 digs.

Wynford’s defense overwhelms Upper Sandusky

Wynford coach Gabe Helbert challenged his defense all week coming into Friday’s game against Upper Sandusky after having its 33-game Northern 10 Athletic Conference winning streak snapped by Seneca East. The Royals rose to the occasion in a big way, and at times, the defensive secondary players may as well have felt as if they were playing on offense.

NORTH BALTIMORE — The points were not hard to come by Friday night in a wild shootout between visiting Riverdale and North Baltimore in a Blanchard Valley Conference football game. Turnovers ended up making the difference as Riverdale had five takeaways and pulled away in the second half of a crazy 77-42 barnburner against the Tigers.
