Mohawk selling playoff tickets during week

SYCAMORE — Mohawk High School is pre-selling tickets for the Division VII Region 26 quarterfinal football game against Leipsic to be played at 7 p.m. Saturday at Warrior Field. Tickets are on sale form 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Friday in the high school office for $8.

Reinhart, Collier qualify for state

TIFFIN — On Saturday during the regional meet at Hedges-Boyer Park in Tiffin, Carey High School freshman Sarah Reinhart did more than qualify for the state meet. Reinhart set a new school record, smashing the old record (19:22.40) set by her teammate Keely Wentz in 2015.

NORTH WASHINGTON — An 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, check. An interception — actually, two of them, check. And two rushing touchdowns, check. In the final regular season game of his high school career, Carey senior slotback/cornerback Jordan Dasher not only scored three touchdowns, but picked off two passes — the second of which set up the scoring drive in which he scored on a 4-yard run

Senecas rally early, sweep Warriors

FOSTORIA — Certainly some of it had to do with Tiffin Calvert, but Mohawk did not look itself Thursday. The Senecas rallied from a first-set deficit and then handed the Warriors their only sweep of the season, 25-23, 25-15, 25-22, in the Division IV district final at Fostoria.

All-NCOSA honors announced

Alivia Oney

Riverdale’s Brandi Borkosky and Alex Rothlisberger and Upper Sandusky’s Alivia Oney and Jenna Rodriguez earned first-team honors on the girls All-North Central Ohio Soccer Association team. Borkosky, a senior defender, had three assists and helped the Falcons limit opponents to 1.53 goals per match.

Miller, Clark, Thiel get 1st-team honors

Riverdale’s Coby Miller and Jackson Clark and Upper Sandusky’s Jaidyn Thiel were named first-team honorees on the boys All-North Central Ohio Soccer Association team. Miller, a junior forward, led the Falcons in goals with nine and points with 22. He had four assists.
