Mohawk grad sets Capital school record

WEST LAFAYETTE — Mohawk High School graduate Katelynn Kinley set a program record for Capital University with an 18-hole round of 77 in the first round of the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship last Saturday at River Greens Golf Course.

Youth football camp to feature college coaches

The 2019 Youth Ram Football Camp is 3:15-4:45 p.m. May 21-23 at the Upper Sandusky Middle School practice football field. Students in first through sixth grades are eligible to learn the fundamentals of the game for all offensive, defensive and special teams positions from coaches and players from Tiffin University, Heidelberg University and Upper Sandusky High School.

Upper to host sectional final softball game

The Upper Sandusky varsity softball team will play the winner of Vermilion and Tiffin Columbian in a Division II sectional final game at 5 p.m. May 9 at Upper Sandusky. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. No school or league passes will be accepted for tournament games.

Co-ed softball tournament has openings

SYCAMORE — The Fourth of July overnight co-ed softball tournament June 28-29 in Sycamore is seeking three more teams. Each team is guaranteed 10 games in the 10-team round robin tournament. SYCAMORE — Leading by three runs heading into the bottom of the sixth, the Lakota softball team scored seven runs for a 14-4 run-rule victory over Mohawk in a non conference softball game on Thursday in Sycamore. Although the game was played in Sycamore, the Raiders were the home team because the game was moved to Sycamore due to poor field conditions at Lakota.

NEW WASHINGTON — Kaiden Vaughn outdueled Ian Yeater as Buckeye Central edged Carey 3-1 in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Thursday at Buckeye Central. Both teams scored once in the second inning. The Bucks’ two runs in the fifth inning were the difference.
