Blue Devils hold off Redskins 6-5

ARCADIA — Facing his last batter because of the pitch count limit, Reece Mullholand got a groundball for the final out as Carey held on for a 6-5 victory against Arcadia in a nonconference baseball game Friday at Arcadia. The Redskins scored once in the bottom of the seventh inning and loaded the bases before the final out.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk showed just how good it can be if it can get strong pitching to go with its consistently powerful offense. MaKenna Hurley limited Wynford to three hits without a walk and struck out six as the Warriors rolled past Wynford 11-1 in five innings in a Division IV sectional final game Thursday in Sycamore.

Upper to have basketball camp

The Upper Sandusky Lady Rams Youth Basketball Camp is June 24-27 in the high school gym. Students entering fourth through sixth grades are set for 9-10:30 a.m., while students entering seventh and eighth grade are set for 10:30 a.m. to noon.

The Upper Sandusky Rams boys soccer camp is June 17-20. Camp for students entering first through fourth grades is slated for 9-10:30 a.m., while camp for students entering fifth through eighth grades is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Upper Sandusky couldn’t expect to score a lot of runs a second time against the Northern 10 Athletic Conference’s top pitcher. They didn’t have to. Alivia Oney shut out Bucyrus, and Upper Sandusky executed small ball to score off Caleigh Rister and take a 4-0 victory that moves the Rams a win away from the Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball crown for the fourth time in five years.

Mohawk loss gives Upper outright N10 championship

MORRAL — Ridgedale scored eight times in the fourth inning to complete a sweep of Mohawk with a 9-3 victory Monday at Ridgedale in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball action. The loss eliminates the Warriors (14-5, 9-5 N10) from a chance at sharing the N10 title and clinches the championship outright for the Rams (17-4, 12-2 N10).
