LUCAS — Staying disciplined against a pair of pitchers who were able to mix in a good curveball with their fastball proved too difficult a task for the Carey baseball team Tuesday. Logan Niswander and Jeb Grover combined on a four-hit shutout to lead Lucas past Carey 3-0 in a Division IV sectional semifinal game at Lucas. The No. 6 seed Cubs (8-10-1) advance to face No. 3 Plymouth in a sectional final game at 5 p.m. Thursday at Plymouth.

SHELBY — The feeling was all too familiar for the Monroeville softball team. The Eagles had fallen to the Mohawk softball team in the Division IV district semifinals at Shelby the last two seasons, with the Warriors winning both matchups by seven runs. On Tuesday, the Eagles trailed the Warriors once again, this time by five runs.

NEW WASHINGTON — The Next Level Basketball 419 Skills Camp is 9-11 a.m. July 9-11 at Buckeye Central High School. Special guest speakers will include former Ohio State University players Aaron Craft and Dallas Lauderdale.

Audiologist Courtney Thiel will provide free hearing screenings for individuals 60 and above 9-11:30 a.m. and 2-4:30 p.m. today, May 23 and 31 at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association is celebrating its 33rd season of serving area youth ages 9-18 within the seven Central Ohio counties of Marion, Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Morrow, Union and Wyandot. The nonprofit, all-volunteer association was begun in 1987 to educate juniors through a golf camp, seminar, seven-tournament tour, awards and scholarships toward college education.

The First Citizens National Bank gave up nine runs in the top of the fifth but walked off winners with six runners in the bottom of the inning to beat T&T Sports Lounge 16-15 in a girls slowpitch softball game May 7.

The Robby Lee 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament is June 22 at Bicentennial Park in Upper Sandusky. The cost is $15 per player, with a maximum of four players per team.

The Upper Sandusky Rams boys soccer camp is June 17-20. Camp for students entering first through fourth grades is slated for 9-10:30 a.m., while camp for students entering fifth through eighth grades is set for 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Upper Sandusky boys and girls tennis camp is 9:30-11 a.m. June 10-13 for students entering sixth through ninth grades. The basics of tennis will be taught by high school coaches and tennis players.
