Eagles win with 5-run 4th

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford scored five times in the fourth inning and that was enough Wednesday for a 5-4 victory against Wynford in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball action at Colonel Crawford. The Royals (5-6, 4-3 N10) built a 4-0 lead, but the Eagles (5-4, 4-3 N10) erased it in the bottom of the fourth.

Rodriguez leads Rams’ win

MORRAL — Jenna Rodriguez had four hits and four RBIs as Upper Sandusky blasted Ridgedale 14-2 in five innings in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday at Ridgedale. Rodriguez had a home run among her four hits. Alexis Fogle also had a big day at the plate with two singles, a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Errors lead to Riverdale loss

McCOMB — A young Riverdale team could not overcome seven errors and dropped its first Blanchard Valley Conference softball game of the year, 9-3, on Wednesday at McComb. The Falcons (5-2, 3-1 BVC) stayed close before the Panthers (6-2, 4-0 BVC) pulled away with a five-run sixth inning.

Wasson shuts out Falcons

McCOMB — Kyle Wasson threw a three-hit shutout to lead McComb to a 2-0 victory against Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday at McComb. Wasson did not walk anyone and struck out five batters. He was able to outduel Brock Davis of Riverdale.

The Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame’s ninth annual banquet is April 20 at the Masters’ Building at the Wyandot County Fairgrounds. This year’s induction class includes Michael Dennis, Tim Gebhardt, Ed Hahn, Conrad Walcutt, Jon Wells, D. Jack West and the 2010-11 Wyandot Indians basketball team. Longtime Wyandot Indians basketball player Chuck Brinker also will be given special recognition.

CAREY — Much like its previous matchup with the Upper Sandusky softball team, the Carey softball team scored three runs in an inning in the latter part of the contest. But this time, the Rams had an answer.

Upper girls edge Mohawk in tri-meet

Tight race

SYCAMORE — Upper Sandusky’s girls edged Mohawk, while Bucyrus’ boys topped Upper Sandusky for first place in a track and field tri-meet Monday at Mohawk. The Rams girls won 70-66 over the Warriors, with the Redmen scoring 39 points. Bucyrus’ boys edged Upper Sandusky 69-66, with Mohawk scoring 40 points.
