Devils’ season-best score not enough against Tigers

TIFFIN — Seneca East completed a perfect dual season by beating Carey 146-160 in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf match Wednesday at Clinton Heights Golf Course. Jay Forehand medaled for the Tigers (8-0, 8-0 N10) with a 33. They know hold a two-point lead over Upper Sandusky (7-1 N10) and a four-point lead over Carey (16-2, 6-2 N10) entering the N10 tournament Tuesday. They can win the league outright by taking first place in the tournament or guarantee at least a share of the championship with a second-place finish.

Madison overwhelms Upper in battle of Rams

MANSFIELD — Upper Sandusky was overwhelmed by Madison and the hot weather in a 5-0 loss in girls tennis action Wednesday at Madison. Upper Sandusky (2-8) had its top two singles players retire from close matches because they were struggling with the heat.

State Division III No. 2 Eagles too much for Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Division III No. 2 Liberty-Benton was too much for Riverdale as the Eagles took a 25-12, 25-13, 25-15 victory in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball action Wednesday evening at Riverdale. Grace Wetherill led the Falcons (1-6, 0-3 BVC) with three aces, four kills and two blocks. Tayler Ashburn had three kills and six digs, and Brookelyn Walter finished with three digs.

Bowerman’s 20 kills power Seneca East to N10 volleyball victory against Mohawk

ATTICA — Seneca East picked up a big Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball victory by knocking off Mohawk 22-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-20 on Tuesday night at Seneca East. Mohawk (7-3, 5-2 N10) took a back-and-forth first set but Seneca East (8-3, 6-1 N10) responded by evening the match in the second set and then taking the lead in a third set that extended beyond 25 points. The Warriors rallied to tie the fourth set at 15 after trailing 9-2 but came up short.

Tusing leads Mohawk to win over Ridgedale

TIFFIN — Mohawk wrapped up Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf dual play with a 185-208 victory against Ridgedale on Tuesday at Seneca Hills Golf Club. Austin Tusing led the way for the Warriors (2-8, 2-6 N10) with a 42. Brodie Detterman shot a 46, Kael Margraf had a 48, and Owen England finished with a 49. Reese Hannam (51) and Brock Brause (54) also were in the varsity lineup.
