Allen East scores 2 late goals to top Upper 4-2

Allen East converted half of its shots into goals and topped Upper Sandusky 4-2 in a nonconference boys soccer match Tuesday night at Upper Sandusky. The Mustangs (2-3-1) scored a pair of quick goals, one by Braylen Kennedy less than two minutes into the match and another by Malachi Blackma with 32:23 left in the first half, to take a 2-0 lead.

Falcons fall 1 stroke short

HARROD — Andrew Kuenzli medaled with a 37, but Riverdale fell one stroke short against Upper Scioto Valley 187-188 on Tuesday at The Colonial Golfers Club. Curtis Tracy added a 45 for the Falcons (9-11). Ben Riddle shot a 52, and Rease Haley contributed a 54. Trevor Hattery rounded out the lineup with a 55.

Balanced Carey gets sweep

BUCYRUS — Carey had three players with eight or more kills in a 25-19, 25-22, 25-16 victory against Bucyrus on Tuesday night at Bucyrus. McKenzie Row led the way for the Blue Devils (5-7, 4-4 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) with 10 kills, followed by Addi Miller with nine and Alaina Tiell with eight.

Mohawk sweeps Ridgedale

SYCAMORE — Mohawk cruised to a 25-8, 25-19, 25-11 victory against Ridgedale in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball play Tuesday night at Mohawk. Paityn Clouse led the Warriors (9-3, 6-2 N10) with 10 kills, three aces and a pair of blocks, while Tess Weinandy contributed nine kills. Emma Thiery added seven kills, and Catherine Klopp finished with six kills, along with three blocks.

GALION — Mohawk had solid scores throughout its lineup and led area teams with a third-place finish Monday in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls golf tournament Monday at Valley View Golf Course. Seneca East edged Colonel Crawford for the tournament title 427-431. The Eagles nonetheless clinched at least a share of the overall championship but the Tigers can get a piece of the title if they can win dual matches this week against Wynford and Colonel Crawford.

Riverdale’s Kuenzli wins BVC player of year honor

FINDLAY — Riverdale’s Andrew Kuenzli was Blanchard Valley Conference tournament medalist and earned conference player of the year honors Monday in the league tournament at Findlay Country Club. Kuenzli on Monday shot a 76, by far the best score of the day. Liberty-Benton’s Seth Lasiter shot an 82 to finish as runner-up. Kuenzli, a junior, edged Lasiter, a senior, for league player of the year honors, with a 128-127.5 advantage in points, which includes results from BVC duals.

Balanced Panthers get BVC sweep of Falcons

MOUNT BLANCHARD — A balanced McComb attack was too much for Riverdale in a 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 loss in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball play Monday night at Riverdale. The Panthers (9-2, 3-1 BVC) got seven kills from Alysha Like and six from Brooklynn Downing. Four teammates finished with four kills apiece.

Miller scores 3 goals as Riverdale stays unbeaten with 6-2 victory

CONTINENTAL — Coby Miller had a hat track as the Riverdale boys soccer team remained undefeated with a 6-2 victory against Continental on Saturday at Continental. Miller scored unassisted goals in the 14th, 37th and 56th minutes as the Falcons (4-0-2) built a 6-0 lead. Tyler Hart scored in the second minute, Brayden Courtney in 32nd and Logan Frey in the 45th for Riverdale.

Konkle gets 2,000th assist

ARCADIA — Alexa Konkle recorded her 2,000th career assist as Mohawk defeated Arcadia 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 in a nonconference volleyball match Saturday at Arcadia. Konkle’s 51 assists in the match give her 2,029 in her career, good for second place in school history. She added four aces, two kills and three digs during the match.
