To teach children about maintaining a healthy lifestyle and have fun in the process, the Wyandot Memorial Health SportsCare program hosted the Mighty Ram Camp on Wednesday at the Upper Sandusky High School Athletic Complex and practice football field.

WSHOF to host 2nd golf outing

The second annual Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame Golf Outing in memory of Robby Lee is set to take place at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 17 at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course located at 4204 Ohio 199 in Carey. The rain date is Aug. 18. The Robby Lee Memorial Golf Outing will be a 14-team, four-person scramble tournament.

USMS to hold volleyball tryouts

The Upper Sandusky Middle School will hold volleyball tryouts for seventh grade on from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Aug. 1-2 and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Aug. 3. Eighth grade tryouts will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Aug. 1-2 and from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Aug. 3. Athletes need to have a completed sports physical and final forms completed in order to try out.

Konkle takes over as AD, assistant principal

New position

BUCYRUS — It wasn’t easy for Brent Konkle to bid farewell to the only school district he attended and worked for. Konkle graduated from Mohawk High School, where he played football, basketball and baseball. Years later, he taught in the Mohawk Local School District for 22 years and served as an assistant junior high athletic director for five years.

Route 30 Rumble MMA event is tonight in Upper

Ready to rumble featured

Signature Combat Sports presents the Route 30 Rumble, a night of mixed martial arts fights tonight at Route 30 Harley Davidson in Upper Sandusky. SMS Promoter Matt Comer said the event features 12 fights in total, three professional bouts and nine amateur contests. The first fight is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m.
