HARROD — Allen East defeated Carey, 45-22, in a wrestling dual Wednesday. The Blue Devils won five matches, including forfeit victories by Reece Mullholand at 113 pounds and Trent Phoenix at 195 pounds.

Fittingly, on the night Upper Sandusky senior guard Abigail Fogle surpassed Clare Aubry for second on the Upper Sandusky girls basketball all-time scoring list, Fogle hit the shots that put the Rams ahead for good in their 55-43 victory against Colonel Crawford.

ATTICA — With a trio of players averaging in double figures, Seneca East has been one of the top offensive teams in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. Carey found a way to slow down the Tigers and reached the midway point in Northern 10 Athletic Conference play in a three-way tie for first place by taking a 58-41 victory on Tuesday night in Attica.

VAN WERT — Upper Sandusky’s boys and girls finished second in a quad swim meet Tuesday in Van Wert. Ottawa-Glandorf’s girls won, 220-164, with Van Wert topping St. Marys Memorial, 119-77, for third.

FOSTORIA — Upper Sandusky’s junior high wrestling team captured the championship in the Fostoria Duals on Saturday.

The OHSAA has designated Jan. 19 as Military Appreciation Night for high school basketball games across Ohio. The Upper Sandusky High School athletic department is honoring U.S. Armed Forces during the Rams home game against Carey and will admit active and veteran U.S. Armed Forces members for free.

The OHSAA has deemed Jan. 19 as Armed Services Appreciation Night for basketball games. In honor of this, Upper Sandusky Middle School will allow any former or active service member into its Jan. 18 girls basketball games against Mohawk for free.

The Upper Sandusky High School and Upper Sandusky Middle School summer athletic no-contact period will be observed from June 30 through July 8. No practices, games, shoot-outs, 7-on-7s, competitions, individual instruction, open gym or fields, conditioning or weight training will be held during this time.
