Derr, Clary win Sally George titles

Tournament champ

MARION — Brandon Derr and Noah Clary won individual championships to lead Upper Sandusky to a fourth place finish this weekend in the 23-team Sally George Invitational at Pleasant. Marysville took the team title, 223-186, over Northmor, with Liberty Center finishing ahead of Upper Sandusky, 169-156.5.

Mohawk’s Brown wins 150th match

SANDUSKY — Parker Brown went undefeated and picked up his 150th career win to lead Mohawk to a 10th-place finish this weekend in the Sandusky St. Mary’s Division III Duals. Mohawk finished 3-6 in all of its matches, including a 40-32 loss to Tinora in the ninth-place match.

May finishes as runner-up at LCC

LIMA — Tanner May finished as runner-up at 182 pounds as Carey finished 13th among 44 teams this weekend in the Thunderbird Invitational at Lima Central Catholic. The Blue Devils scored 74 points. Miami East won the team championship, 196-188.5, over Troy Christian.

Gallegos, Hayes lead Falcons at Ben Logan

BELLEFONTAINE — Thane Gallegos and Ethan Hayes both finished fourth to lead Riverdale this weekend in the Benjamin Logan Raider Invitational wrestling tournament. The Falcons’ 55 points were good enough for 15th place. Tecumseh won, 173.5-154.5, over Bellefontaine.

Eagles win over Royals

NORTH ROBINSON — Cameron McCreary set a school record with 15 assists to lead Colonel Crawford to a 65-46 victory against Wynford on Saturday night in Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys basketball play. McCreary scored only 4 points, but instead set up his teammates, especially Brody Martin, who had a game-high 18 points, and Hayden Bute, whose 16 points were nearly five times his season average of 3.3 per game.

Hot-shooting Pirates get win

BLUFFTON — Alivia Koenig knocked down six 3-pointers and scored 24 points to lead hot-shooting Bluffton to a 67-48 victory against Riverdale in a non-conference girls basketball game Saturday. The Pirates (12-5) were 11 of 20 from long range, while the Falcons (9-8) went 0 for 9.

Kin leads Carey

NEW RIEGEL — Sydney Kin had 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead Carey to a 45-35 victory against New Riegel in a non-conference girls basketball game Saturday. The Blue Devils (16-1) slowly pulled ahead after the teams were tied at 8 after one quarter.

Tigers get marquee win by topping Rams

Seneca East has done plenty of winning this season, but not until Friday night did the Tigers have a marquee win. The Tigers used a fourth-quarter run to pull ahead and then hold off Upper Sandusky, 45-41, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference girls basketball game.
