MOUNT BLANCHARD — A balanced McComb attack was too much for Riverdale in a 25-12, 25-10, 25-13 loss in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball play Monday night at Riverdale. The Panthers (9-2, 3-1 BVC) got seven kills from Alysha Like and six from Brooklynn Downing. Four teammates finished with four kills apiece.

CONTINENTAL — Coby Miller had a hat track as the Riverdale boys soccer team remained undefeated with a 6-2 victory against Continental on Saturday at Continental. Miller scored unassisted goals in the 14th, 37th and 56th minutes as the Falcons (4-0-2) built a 6-0 lead. Tyler Hart scored in the second minute, Brayden Courtney in 32nd and Logan Frey in the 45th for Riverdale.

HARROD — One good half of football was not enough Saturday for Wynford to come away a winner against undefeated Allen East. The Mustangs dominated the first half and then held off the Royals 22-14 at Allen East.

ARCADIA — Alexa Konkle recorded her 2,000th career assist as Mohawk defeated Arcadia 23-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22 in a nonconference volleyball match Saturday at Arcadia. Konkle’s 51 assists in the match give her 2,029 in her career, good for second place in school history. She added four aces, two kills and three digs during the match.

KANSAS — Sarah Reinhart set the Carey school record and finished as runner-up in 19:13.07 on Saturday in the Myron Cline Invitational at Lakota. Liberty Center’s Hope Oelkrug won in 18:53.89, leading her team to first place with 42 points. With runners missing because of the Wyandot County Fair, Carey was sixth with 157 points.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Lexi Miller scored three goals to lead Riverdale to a 4-1 girls soccer victory against Mansfield Christian on Saturday. Haley Frey got the Falcons (5-3) on the board first with a goal with 32:42 remaining in the first half, assisted by Makena Barnes. Miller scored the team’s final two goals, including two in the first half. Frey assisted with 29:37 left in the half and Danielle Searfoss made the pass for the goal at the 6:57 mark.

GALION — With limited rosters because of the Wyandot County Fair, Upper Sandusky and Wynford competed in the Galion Festival cross country meet Saturday at Amman’s Park. Wynford’s boys led the way a sixth-place finish in Division III with 223 points. New London won with 45 points.

CALEDONIA — Olivia Kyrk and Bailey Ruth combined for 19 kills to lead River Valley to a 25-14, 26-24, 25-17 victory against Wynford in a nonconference volleyball match Saturday at River Valley. Kyrk led all players with 10 kills, while Ruth had nine for the Vikings (8-4).

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riley Garmatter had three aces, 11 kills and 12 digs to lead Cory-Rawson to a 25-14, 25-23, 25-23 victory against Riverdale on Saturday in Blanchard Valley Conference volleyball action at Riverdale. Grace Wetherill led the Falcons (1-7, 0-4 BVC) with an ace and seven kills. Tayler Ashburn added five kills and nine digs, and Brookelyn Walter aced the Hornets (4-6, 1-3 BVC) four times and had nine digs. Hannah Vaughan added 10 digs.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — With his team clinging to an eight-point lead near the end of the first quarter, McComb football coach Kris Alge used the nearly 90-minute lightning delay to highlight the areas in which the Panthers needed to improve when the game resumed.
