Mohawk’s Oler signs with Ashland

SYCAMORE — She considered many Division I, II and NAIA colleges, but after visiting Division II Ashland University, Mohawk’s Destini Oler made return visits to the campus, becoming more impressed each time. On Wednesday, Oler, surrounded by her family and coaches, signed her national letter of intent to run cross country and track at Ashland University.

BUCYRUS — Carey softball stayed undefeated with a 10-3 victory against Wynford on Wednesday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball play. The Blue Devils (6-0, 5-0 N10) scored in five different innings and built an 8-1 lead midway through the fourth inning.

Rams win close matches to beat Spartans

MARION — Upper Sandusky won three matches in three sets and took a 4-1 victory against Pleasant on Wednesday. The Rams (4-1) swept the singles matches, with Clay Burger at No. 1 singles and Will Barnes at No. 3 singles both winning in three sets.

Upper’s Holly strikes out 12

Jason Holly struck out 12 in six innings and Upper Sandusky held off Buckeye Central, 8-5, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. Holly (1-1) gave up just one hit and four walks.

Upper Sandusky scored two runs in the first inning and that was enough in a 3-1 victory against Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday. The Bucks scored once in the second inning, and the Rams (5-3, 3-1 N10) scored once in the fifth inning.

SYCAMORE — Trevor Ley held Mohawk to five hits and Bucyrus picked up its first Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball victory, 6-2, on Wednesday. Ley (2-1) struck out seven and walked three for the Redmen (2-3, 1-2 N10).

Eagles stay unbeaten in BVC

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale committed seven errors, and Liberty-Benton rolled to a 16-2 victory in a battle of unbeaten Blanchard Valley Conference baseball teams Wednesday. The Eagles (4-3, 3-0 BVC) scored 10 times in the first inning.

Liberty-Benton routs Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Emma Grubinski had five hits and five RBIs and Liberty-Benton ran away with a 29-5 victory against Riverdale on Wednesday in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game. The Eagles (4-3, 2-1 BVC) scored 16 times in the third inning.
