Pickett leads Riverdale in BVC tri-match

ARLINGTON — Mason Pickett shot a 52 to lead Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference tri-match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Hopewell-Loudon won with a 191-217 advantage over Leipsic, while Riverdale finished with a 250.

Kenton YMCA having tourney

KENTON — The Hardin County Family YMCA is hosting a men’s “Around the Horn” one-pitch softball tournament Sept. 24-25 at the Home Run Memorial Park Little League fields on Ohio 292 in Kenton. The cost is $175 per team. Rosters should have 10-15 players with no changes permitted once play begins.

Local trainer to host Me vs. Me

CAREY — Hannah Frey, a 2012 Riverdale High School graduate and certified personal fitness trainer, will host a weeklong fitness challenge from Sept. 24 through Oct. 1. The Me vs. Me 1-Week Fitness Challenge invites participants of all ages to perform and record three exercises during a performance day Sept. 24.

Upper, Shasteen win title at Wynford

BUCYRUS — Madelyn Shasteen ran out to the front in the first few strides and never looked back. The Upper Sandusky sophomore ran the Wynford Cross Country Invitational course in 21:16.53 for first place. It was her first win in a varsity race.

Rams have no trouble beating Royals

Upper Sandusky had no trouble beating Wynford, 174-223, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf match Tuesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Brett Montgomery earned medalist honors with a 40, and Turner Dilley scored a 42.

Upper volleyball defeats Seneca East in 4 sets

Things started to come together for Upper Sandusky as it picked up its second win of the year, defeating Seneca East, 25-18, 27-25, 18-25, 25-22, on Tuesday night. “I am certain that we will continue to win and start to mesh better,” Upper Sandusky coach Kerri Thiel said.

Burton helps Ridgedale upset Mohawk

BUCYRUS — Things are all tied up at the top of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf standings after Ridgedale upset Mohawk, 167-169, on Tuesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. What was even more surprising is the Rockets (7-1, 5-1 N10) pulled the upset despite a round of 45 from N10 scoring leader Mitchill Reasoner.

Wagner medals in Carey victory

CAREY — Chase Wagner shot a 38 to earn medalist honors and lead Carey to a 161-201 victory against Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference golf match Tuesday at Bob's Countryside Golf Course. Marcus Miller, Trey Bame and Alex Kimmet all shot 41s for the Blue Devils (10-1, 4-1 N10).

Wynford girls win tri-match

TIFFIN — Wynford was victorious in a girls tri-match Tuesday at Clinton Heights Golf Course. The Royals topped Seneca East, 207-244, while Mohawk competed but only had three players and could not score as a team.
