Ferguson’s walk-off hit gives Carey victory

CAREY — Two days before, Carey was unable to dig out of an early hole. On Wednesday, Dani Berardinelli-Clark, Sydney Ferguson and the Blue Devils had the answer to rally past Upper Sandusky. Berardinelli-Clark’s two-out home run tied the game in the bottom of the seventh, and Ferguson’s hit three batters later gave Carey a 7-6 victory against its county rival.

Holly delivers big hit, closes out Upper win

CAREY — Upper Sandusky’s bats finally came alive. The Rams had the final say in a back-and-forth, 11-9 win over Carey on Wednesday, scoring the go-ahead runs in the top of the seventh inning. Jason Holly struck out two in the home half to preserve the win. The OH-199 rivals split victories on the road in their early-season series.

Harper has 4 hits in Mohawk win

NORTH ROBINSON — Mohawk scored eight combined runs in the fifth and sixth innings to defeat Colonel Crawford, 9-7, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. Down 4-1 after the Eagles (3-3, 1-2 N10) scored four times in the fourth inning, the Warriors (4-1, 3-1 N10) scored five times in the fifth to go up 6-4.

Chargers edge Rams, 3-2

MILAN — Edison edged Upper Sandusky, 3-2, in a boys tennis match Wednesday. The Chargers’ Bryan Johnston won the deciding match at No. 2 singles, rallying past Alex Engle, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, in the No. 2 singles match.
