Whitehall tops Upper in regional semis

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE — As a deficit continued to mount Wednesday evening, so did the frustration. Upper Sandusky lost its first six matches to fall behind 31-0 and lost a 46-24 decision to Whitehall-Yearling in the Division II Region 14 semifinals at Miami Trace Middle School.

Upper 7th grade tops Ridgedale

Upper Sandusky took a 39-9 victory against Ridgedale in the first round of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference seventh grade boys basketball tournament Wednesday. In a balanced effort, Ethan Collins, Coy Shoemaker, Zach Sheaffer and Ethan Steele had six points apiece for the Rams (11-5).

Upper clinches share of N10 title with win over Bucyrus

It was not Upper Sandusky’s best performance of the season, but it was plenty good enough for a 59-35 victory against Bucyrus and at least a share of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference championship. The victory, combined with Buckeye Central’s loss to Carey, gives the Rams (18-0, 13-0 N10) a three-game lead with three games remaining. A win in any one of them will clinch the title outright.

Carey avenges loss to BC with runaway win

CAREY — It’s got to feel good when it all comes together. Carey knocked down open shots and made things hard for Jenna Karl and Buckeye Central in its rematch against the second best team in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. The Blue Devils ran up a lead in each quarter of a 56-39 victory on their senior night.

Trusty, Dundore lead Mohawk win over SE

ATTICA — Chelsey Trusty and Beth Dundore combined for nine 3-pointers and 36 points as Mohawk ran away with a 58-38 victory at Seneca East to improve to .500 for the first time this season. TIFFIN — Riverdale forced 28 turnovers, including 12 in the first quarter, running away with a 66-43 victory against Tiffin Calvert in a non-league girls basketball game Tuesday evening. Sydney Holderman scored 22 points and added six steals, while Lexie Wright nearly posted a triple-double with 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals. Reygan Frey had 12 points, five steals and four assists.
